Even though a lot of places are still off-limits due to COVID-19, there are still quite a few free things you can either do from the comfort of your home or while safely social distancing. We have rounded up some fun activities that you and the whole family can do this weekend!

Using the Amplify platform, visitors can explore new Canadian music, take a tour of the National Music Centre, and gain access to exclusive music-related content. Until museums can reopen safely, this works as a great activity to pick up during the lulls between school and work to learn some new things about the Canadian music industry!

Located on the Centre City Parkade (340 10 Avenue SW), this public park has a 200 metre boardwalk with colourful parklets designed for rest, relaxation, and photo taking. After you're done exploring High Park, you can mosey around the Beltline district to look at the different murals that are apart of B.U.M.P.

You can now visit the newly unveiled Dale Hodges Park near Bowness. This former gravel pit is now a beautiful, 40 hectare oasis for animals, nature, and visitors looking for a break from hectic city life. There is plenty of space to ensure that you can stay socially distanced from other families and groups visiting.

FESA acknowledges that the land upon which we work and call home is on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney), the Otipemisiwak Métis Government (Districts 4, 5, and 6), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.

We are grateful to work on the territory that situates Calgary, which is known as Mohkinstsis by the Blackfoot, Guts’ists’i by Tsuut’ina, and Wîchîspa by the Îyâxe Nakoda, as we endeavor to build a more literate and learning society allowing all to reach their potential.
