BFK Announces 2021's Chip in for Kids

FESA Staff

With the Shaw Charity Classic organizers planning to resume play this summer, Shaw is once again encouraging the community to Chip in for Kids in an effort to boost support for more than 200 Alberta youth-based charities that are connected to the Shaw Charity Classic and its charitable giving program, Shaw Birdies for Kids, presented by AltaLink.

The real winners of the Shaw Charity Classic have always been the hundreds of thousands of children and youth across Alberta who rely on charitable organizations for support with food security, healthcare, mental wellness, and much more.

Organizations like ours rely on donations and we need your support now more than ever as we attempt to recover from the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, FESA supported 867 adult learners and families through literacy and essential skills programs, with 92% showing increased confidence and 84% applying their new foundational skills outside of the class.

The Further Education Society of Alberta and Shaw invite you to Chip in for Kids by texting KIDS105 to 30333 to donate $10 and help us FESA. To make your generous contribution go further, Shaw will match your donation and the matched donation amount will then be matched again by the Shaw Charity Classic, up to an additional 50 per cent. Your $10 donation can grow into a donation of $30 to literacy and essential skills support.

The donations and matched contributions raised through the Chip in for Kids program will help ensure that charities like ours are able to continue supporting children and youth in our community.

We are grateful to work on the territory that situates Calgary, which is known as Mohkinstsis by the Blackfoot, Guts’ists’i by Tsuut’ina, and Wîchîspa by the Îyâxe Nakoda, as we endeavor to build a more literate and learning society allowing all to reach their potential.
